Parkinson's Support Groups - APDA South Florida Chapter

Support Group networks are a major vehicle for disseminating information and making resources available to assist people with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers. Group meetings help persons with PD, caregivers and families to foster self-empowerment and coping skills in a non-judgmental and encouraging atmosphere.
We provide information on PD support groups, caregiver (care partner) groups and young onset PD groups throughout the State of Florida. Many of these groups provide physical, occupational or speech exercises and opportunities to socialize with other members.

Water is an excellent exercise medium for anyone with the diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. The buoyancy effect of water on the human body creates a feeling of easy movement and freedom. Several aquatic programs are available in South Florida, exclusively for people with Parkinson's disease.
